The Duluth Builders Exchange Legacy Apprenticeship Scholarship provides up to $500 for tools & safety gear for individuals entering the trades through an apprenticeship program. Apprentices must be in their 1st or 2nd year of a program in NE MN or NW WI and submit an application (including a copy/photo of their state-issued apprenticeship agreement) by the twice annual deadline (May 1st & October 1st). Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation – Richard “Rick” Roy Washburn Memorial Scholarship

The Richard “Rick” Roy Washburn Memorial Scholarship helps students who live in or near Ulland Brothers Inc. communities and who seek construction careers. The scholarship is named after Richard “Rick” Roy Washburn, a loyal member of the Ulland Brothers Inc. team until his untimely death in October of 2012. Scholarship Grant Range is $1,000 per year up to 2 years ($2,000 total).

AEOA Adult Based Education

AEOA’s Adult Education program provides a full spectrum of learning options for community members who are age 17 years or older and are not enrolled in or required to be enrolled in any school in the K-12 system. In addition, the individual must lack a secondary high school credential and/or function below the 12th grade level in any of the basic academic areas including reading, math, and ability to read, write and understand English. ABE services include: basic skill and computer training, GED preparation, English language learning (ELL), college and career preparation, and industry-specific training (i.e., entrepreneur training, carpentry pre-apprenticeship, ServSafe food manager certification, para-professional certification).
